By his teenage years that it was noticeable he was on the fast track to NHL stardom, and registered the Chicago Blackhawks shortly after his 18th birthday. He'd lead the Jets to two league championship AVCO Cup victories and in'77 set a totally new professional hockey record with 77 goals in a very season.Hull experienced knee trouble throughout his career, and it gradually forced his retirement from hockey in'79. He would play using some games for the Whalers before calling it a career.
